A04 – Antropologie

OBIECTIVE DIDACTICE:

Cursul de Antropologie explorează arhitectura din perspectiva omului, ca subiect, utilizator și locuitor al spațiului
construit. Înțeleasă ca disciplină care produce cunoaștere despre celălalt – apropiat sau îndepărtat social și
cultural –, antropologia oferă instrumente pentru înțelegerea diversității nevoilor, valorilor, comportamentelor și a
felului în care aceste diferențe se pot repercuta în spațiul construit. Cursul investighează relația reciprocă dintre
om și spațiu: felul în care arhitectura, de la teritoriu și oraș până la obiectul arhitectural, modelează și modulează
percepții, afecte și comportamente, dar și felul în care omul transformă, apropriază și conferă identitate unui
spațiu. Arhitectura este analizată și ca artefact cultural, expresie a unor valori, practici și contexte de multe ori
extrem de specifice. În acest cadru, cursul propune o interogare și o problematizare a reflecțiilor teoretice și a
practicii arhitecturale, înțelegerea oamenilor și a diversității lor devenind un instrument relevant pentru
construirea unui demers critic în proiectare, responsabil și atent la un anumit context specific.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES

The Anthropology course explores architecture from the perspective of the human being, as subject, user, and
inhabitant of the built environment. Understood as a discipline that produces knowledge about the other—
whether socially and culturally close or distant—anthropology provides tools for understanding the diversity of
human needs, values, and behaviours, and the ways in which these differences may be reflected in the built
environment. The course investigates the reciprocal relationship between people and space: how architecture,
from territory and the city to the architectural object, shapes and modulates perceptions, affects, and behaviours,
as well as how people transform, appropriate, and confer identity upon space. Architecture is also examined as a
cultural artefact, expressing values, practices, and often highly specific contexts. Within this framework, the
course critically examines theoretical perspectives and architectural practice, approaching the understanding of
people and their diversity as a relevant instrument for developing a responsible and critically informed design
process, attentive to the specific context in which it operates.
