Estetica Structurilor

OBIECTIVE DIDACTICE:

Cursul Estetică structurală se adresează studenților arhitecți se bazează pe principiile fundamentale definite de Vitruvius – firmitas, utilitas, venustas și explorează relația profundă dintre formă, structură și expresie arhitecturală. Accentul este pus pe importanța tectonicii – modul în care materialele, îmbinările și sistemele constructive devin limbaj vizual și narativ al arhitecturii. Se analizează astfel modul în care structura nu este doar suport fizic, ci și element esențial în definirea caracterului unei clădiri. Prin exemple istorice și contemporane, cursul invită la o reflecție critică asupra modului în care estetica structurală poate genera arhitectura.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES

The Structural Aesthetics course is based on the fundamental principles defined by Vitruvius – firmitas, utilitas, venustas and is focusing on the profound understanding of the link between form, architecture and load-bearing structure. It emphasizes the importance of tectonics – on the way in which materials, joining details and construction systems can become part of the architectural language. Through a series of historic and contemporary examples the course is offering a critical analysis of the way materials and structural elements might not be used as simple load-bearing elements but as valuable systems, complementing the architectural aesthetics and actively contributing to the definition of architecture.
