OBIECTIVE DIDACTICE:

TEACHING OBJECTIVES

The discipline “Furniture Technology” aim at the assimilation by the students of the theoretical and practical elements regarding the basic technological materials and processes. The main materials used in the furniture industry are analyzed, as well as the classic and modern manufacturing technologies specific to the furniture manufacturing industry. Starting from the design of furniture components, with technical drawing as the foundation of furniture conception, the manufacturing technologies for furniture made of wood, metallic materials, plastic (polymeric) materials, glass, and composite materials are comparatively analyzed. Additionally, the main technologies specific to surface engineering are analyzed, as well as the assembly of furniture components (modern solutions for both non-disassemblable and disassemblable assembly).

The seminar takes place in high-performance laboratories equipped with both classic and modern machines, where theoretical concepts are put into practice by manufacturing furniture components using the technologies presented in the course.
