Istoria Arhitecturii Antice

OBIECTIVE DIDACTICE:

Cursul face parte din ansamblul disciplinelor fundamentale dedicate formării arhitecților, având ca obiectiv principal familiarizarea studenților cu evoluția arhitecturii în perioada antichității. Acesta urmărește dezvoltarea unei înțelegeri critice asupra etapelor definitorii ale formării limbajului arhitectural, precum și cultivarea capacității de analiză a producției arhitecturale contemporane dintr-o perspectivă istorică. Sunt evidențiate relațiile dintre expresia arhitecturală și contextul cultural, social, politic, geografic și tehnologic specific fiecărei epoci. Tematica abordată include civilizațiile preistorice, arhitectura Mesopotamiei, Egiptului Antic, Greciei și Romei antice, precum și tradițiile arhitecturale clasice din India și China, cu accent pe influențele durabile ale acestora asupra gândirii arhitecturale moderne.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES

The course is part of the core curriculum dedicated to the education of architects, with its primary objective being to familiarize students with the evolution of architecture during Antiquity. It aims to develop a critical understanding of the key stages in the formation of architectural language, as well as to cultivate the ability to analyze contemporary architectural production from a historical perspective. The course highlights the relationships between architectural expression and the cultural, social, political, geographical, and technological contexts specific to each historical period. Topics covered include prehistoric civilizations, the architecture of Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as classical architectural traditions from India and China, with a focus on their enduring influence on modern architectural thought
